4-6 hour sessions, 1-5 consecutive days instead of weekly, hour sessions
Months worth of therapy sessions done within one week
Rewiring the brain to let go of inner criticism and blocking beliefs, instilling confident hope as you step forward towards your dreams
Enabling you to move forward with your life, in your relationships, differently after just few days of therapy
Reduced investment of time and money since therapy goals are met quicker with less time spent on opening and closing the material over many months
I view my job as a trauma therapist as ensuring that nothing we do is too much for too long. The extended time will allow us to work with any blocks and protective strategies that initially keep us from identifying and attuning to the core wound that presently impacts too much of your life. Whether it is one or more, we'll be able to plan time to build up an internal sense of safety, and with time, confidence in your personal intuition in how to interpret and meet your own Parts' needs. We'll use our space, breathing techniques, and our imaginations to change the existing stories that limit your functioning in the world around you.
Has something recently shaken your world — like a breakup, car accident, traumatic event, or sudden loss — and you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected from yourself? An intensive can help you gently move through the shock and start to feel like yourself again, sooner.
Do you have something important coming up — a wedding, a presentation, a trip with in-laws, a court date, or maybe the choice to start dating again after a painful breakup or loss — and you want to feel more grounded, clear, and confident heading into it? Intensives can help process the stuck emotions and triggered memories that keep you from fully stepping into this next chapter.
If weekly therapy is difficult to manage—especially with limited childcare or a demanding schedule—intensives offer a focused way to do deep work in just a few days with minimal disruption to your life.
Or maybe you’re feeling the need for therapy, but you don’t want to spend months waiting for change. EMDR intensives give you the opportunity to begin healing now, with momentum and clarity.
Out-of-state Travelers: Your EMDR Intensive will be scheduled over consecutive days, starting at 9:00 AM—leaving you time for a morning beach walk, yoga class, or journaling on the beach before we begin. Sessions wrap up before sunset so you can unwind outdoors, letting your nervous system settle, taking in the salty air and sunshine. We have great culinary diversity within 2 blocks of the office for a great beach picnic during lunch break, too! I thoroughly enjoy travel planning. Please let me know if you'd like more planning for your trip or specific recommendations.
Carlsbad offers a peaceful, coastal backdrop for deep healing—and if you ever want to return for another round of focused work, I welcome you to schedule a follow-up Intensive.
California Locals: If you crave deep, focused work and ongoing support, we have the flexibility to do both. We can structure your care with an Intensive to clear core material quickly and then continue with weekly or biweekly sessions—on Zoom or in-person—depending on your location and preferences.
It’s a beautiful blend of deep work and ongoing care, at a pace that fits your life.

Free 20-Minute Consultation Call
We'll start with a brief phone call to get to know each other, discuss your goals, identify if we're working with a single event that occurred or a long history of recurring similar experiences that leave a pretty cemented view of Self, determine if an EMDR Intensive is the right fit, and schedule in the way that meets all of your needs best.
Complete Intake Forms
After our consultation, I’ll send you intake forms to complete at least one week before your EMDR Intensive so I can better understand your history and needs before we meet in person. The forms will help us more efficiently strategize our goals and approach when we meet at the start of your Intensive.
Assessments: GAD-7, PCL-5, PHQ-9, SWLS, DES-II
Intake Questionnaire
Trauma Solution's Attachment Style Inventory
Day One: Mapping Your Internal and External Landscape
We’ll begin with a gentle exploration of your family system—both birth and chosen family—so I can better understand the people who shaped you and those who support your healing now.
Next, we’ll create an IFS (Internal Family Systems) Meeting Place to connect with and attune to your inner parts. We'll also begin somatic body mapping, nervous system attunement practices, and start noticing your patterns of regulation—fight, flight, freeze, fawn—and what helps you feel safe and grounded.
From there, we’ll use an EMDR Floatback Technique to identify the core memories or events that are most important to address during your Intensive. These will guide our focus so we can clear blocking beliefs and shift the impact of past experiences in a deep and lasting way.
